Fairy Tale: A True Story (1997)

A charming film with Peter O'Toole as Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. The action takes place during World War One, when Doyle championed the photographs of fairies made by two English girls. Although the movie bills itself as "A True Story," it soft-pedals the real story -- when they were elderly women, the girls finally confessed it was all a youthful hoax!
