Lincoln's Funeral at Columbus, Ohio--1865

A closer look shows Lincoln's name on the catafalque; a sign proclaiming "Billiard Room" on the building facing the State House; a clock--or perhaps a watchmaker's trade sign--reading twelve minutes to three; and next to the clock, ghost figures of boys who failed to stay still during the entire exposure.

Click on magnifying glass for a closer look at the mysterious head-gear of the grooms holding the horses hitched to the catafalque.
