Unidentified photographer (U.S.): Sit! Quarter-plate tintype, circa 1860
There seems to be a confrontation of sorts underway here. Did the dog take his master’s chair? Does the creel in the foreground have something to do with it? We may never know the full story behind this doggie drama, but the mystery surrounding it certainly does not diminish its charms.
