Dear Member:

I’m pleased to announce three opportunities for members of the American Museum of Photography.

The first of these is FREE admission to the 2011 Trade Fair sponsored by The Daguerreian Society.

It’s a hands-on opportunity to examine thousands of antique photographs, from daguerreotypes to vintage snapshots. It’s also a chance to meet some of the best photography dealers and most knowledgeable collectors, who eagerly await this event every year. You can start a collection, add to one, or shop for unforgettable gifts. The event is being held Friday, October 28 at the Hilton St. Petersburg Bayfront in St. Petersburg, Florida. To Print your Free Pass (for admission after 2pm) click HERE.

Next, it’s off to England for the London Photograph Fair and another FREE ADMISSION for our members. The next fair is being held November 20 at the Holiday Inn Bloomsbury, on Coram Street. The London Photograph Fair features a wide range of collectible photography and fine art photography, from the 19th, 20th, and 21st centuries. There’s more information online at www.photofair.co.uk . To request your Voucher for Free Admission (12 noon and thereafter), send an email to [email protected] and mention the American Museum of Photography.

Can’t make it to London or Florida? You can preview more than 150 remarkable images and bid for them online – from anywhere in the world – when the Boston auction house Skinner sells The Rod MacKenzie Collection of Early Photography on Sunday, October 30.

This collection is rich in American daguerreotypes and military portraits from the Civil War. The daguerreotypes, ambrotypes and tintypes include splendid occupational images (among them, a mailman and an architect) and early photographs that have stories to tell about American life in the 1840s through the 1860s. To view the rarities in this auction, click here.

As always, I invite you to tell your friends about the American Museum of Photography, www.photographymuseum.com . Admission is free, and we’re always open!

Best wishes–
