Like several of Martin’s photographs, this image is found with varying captions, identifying the locale as one state or another.
Martin’s craftsmanship was so fastidious that it’s often impossible to detect where various elements of the composition have been joined together. In this case, however, a magnifier reveals retouching on portions of the central figure.
