Major Lee Moorhouse (Pendleton, Oregon, 1850-1926)

Moorhouse, an amateur photographer, worked at various times as a surveyor, wheat rancher, Umatilla Indian Agent, insurance salesman and Assistant Adjutant General of the Oregon State Militia. He was a noted producer of photographic post cards.
This photograph was included in the exhibition “Images of Identity: American Indians in Photographs” at the Detroit Institute of Arts (1994)
