Unidentified Photographer: “Old Witch House, Salem, Massachusetts. Built 1613.” Albumen print, 6-1/2″ x 8-1/2″,circa 1892
The Old Witch House was evidently a significant contributor to the success of the Apothecary Shop that adjoins it. The Apothecary’s name is often found emblazoned on stereoviews of the Witch House; it’s likely this photograph was also sold by the shop as a souvenir.
